Bed bugs can vary in size, typically ranging from 4 to 5 millimeters in length and are usually reddish-brown in colour.
Bed bugs tend to bite exposed areas of the body while you sleep, with the most common areas being the face, neck, arms, and hands. These bites are often grouped together and appear as red, itchy welts on the skin.

Preventative Measures:
To avoid a bed bug infestation, it's important to take some preventive measures. Regular vacuuming, proper inspection and cleaning of bedding, reducing clutter, using bed bug-proof encasement, and being cautious with secondhand items are all effective steps in preventing these unwanted pests. Pay special attention to areas such as mattresses box springs, bed frames, and furniture when vacuuming and inspecting for signs of bed bugs. If you suspect an infestation, wash your bedding in hot water and dry it on high heat to kill bed bugs and their eggs.
To prevent bed bug infestations, it's important to reduce clutter in your home. Bed bugs love to hide in cluttered areas, so keeping your living space tidy and organised is key. Additionally, using bed bug-proof encasements on your mattresses and box springs can help prevent infestations. When acquiring second-hand items, be sure to inspect them carefully and consider cleaning and treating them before bringing them into your home.
If you're noticing an unusual foul odor, dark or rusty spots on your bed elements and walls, blood stains, egg shells, shed skins, or bite marks on your skin, it's time a bed bug treatment. Bed bugs can make themselves at home in your bed, sofa, cushions, and even on public transport, so it's important to take action soon as possible.

Before & After Treatment:
In order to ensure the utmost efficacy of our treatment, we highly recommend that prior to the commencement of the treatment, all bed linen, mattress protectors, pillows, and any other such items be removed from the room and placed directly into a plastic bag for transfer to the laundry It is of utmost importance that you do not forget to thoroughly check any drapes or curtains, paying close attention to the top tapes and folds, as these can often be overlooked. It is also imperative that you do not leave any bagged items for an extended period of time, but rather wash them as soon as possible in hot water, ensuring that the temperature exceeds 60°C.
Furthermore, we strongly advise that you vacuum the room thoroughly, paying close attention to the edges, fixtures, and around/in the mattress creases and edges. It is also recommended that you vacuum the floor area in general.
After the treatment has been completed, it is crucial that the room is well-ventilated and left unoccupied until the treatment has settled and dried. It is important to note that during the first 10-14 days following the treatment, you should only clean the room minimally, so as to prevent the removal of any residual treatment. Additionally, it is imperative that you do not vacuum or clean closer than 15cm from the floor edges.
