Terms & Conditions

Most of the pest control treatment services provided by The Bug Specialist come with warranties and/or free service periods.

At the Bug Specialist, we prioritize the use of top-notch products from companies dedicated to research and development. We firmly believe that this is the only way to ensure an service that safeguards the health and safety of our customers, technicians, the general public, and the environment.

Terms and Conditions

This Certificate is solely concerned with the management and/or treatment of pests that are explicitly identified and not excluded from its scope. It is important to note that the Pest Manager cannot guarantee the outcome of the management or treatment procedures. This is primarily due to the fact that pests are biological entities that may exhibit cryptic behaviors, survive treatment, or re-infest from other sources. Furthermore, the effectiveness of treatment may be impaired by the limitations of the site being treated, such as poor hygiene, inadequate storage, or suboptimal construction.

Limitations

1. The client is accountable for ensuring that any treated areas, including baits, monitoring stations, and traps placed by the pest manager, are not disturbed.

2. The Pest Technician must be notified immediately of any evidence of active (LIVE) pests found.

3. This Certificate is limited to the inspection and assessment of specific matters mentioned in the document. It is important to note that this is not inspection report or management proposal for pests such as termites, wood borers, fungal decay, chemical delignification, or other excluded pests like bed bugs.

4. During inspections, only the areas of the property that are easily accessible are covered. Any areas that are obstructed or not readily accessible are not included in the inspection.

5. This Certificate is intended solely for the use of the Client mentioned in this document. The Pest Manager or their firm or company cannot be held responsible for any trust placed on this Certificate by any third party except for the disclosed Owner named in this document who instructed the Client.

6. The scope of this Certificate is limited to the work carried out by the Pest Manager mentioned in it. It does not extend to the work of any other Pest Manager or any successor in business of the Pest Manager.

7. The service obligations agreed upon are solely between the Pest Manager and the Client and Building Owner mentioned in this document. These obligations will end upon the sale or transfer of property ownership. such cases, the new property owner must in touch with the Pest Manager to renew the service.

 

Exclusions:

1. The Certificate explicitly states that any damage caused by past, current, or future pest activity is not covered and cannot be treated, rectified, or repaired.

2. The Certificate does not cover the repair or rectification of any pest management treatment or system that has been damaged due to the actions or inactions of the Building Owner, its agents, servants, or invitees.

 

IMPORTANT HEALTH & SAFETY INFORMATION

In the event that the Building Owner or any other occupants of the property or building have a sensitivity to chemicals, including pesticides or their odours, it is incumbent upon the Building Owner to provide written notification to the Pest Manager prior to any treatments. This notification should include information regarding whether the Building Owner or other occupants have sought the advice of a medical doctor or other healthcare provider regarding their sensitivity. It is important to note that the Pest Manager reserves the right to deny or terminate service upon receipt of such notification. In the event that the Building Owner fails to provide notification, they assume the risk and waive any claims against the Pest Manager in connection with such sensitivity.

The Building Owner is required to safeguard or relocate any individuals, pets, wildlife, aquatic life, personal belongings or possessions as instructed by the Pest Manager during the treatment phase. The Building Owner must adhere to all written or verbal guidance, suggestions or information provided by the Pest Manager.

 

DEFINITIONS

Pest Manager/ Technician: This refers to the individual hired by the client to perform the tasks outlined in this document, and who possesses the necessary license to apply pesticides as needed.

 

Client: This refers to the individual or individuals (who may also be Building Owner) that hire the Pest Manager.

 

Building Owner: This refers to the individual who has given permission or instructed the Client to hire the Pest Manager, such as a building owner who has directed the process through a real estate agent.

 

Treated Areas: This Certificate refers to the areas that were treated by the Pest Manager.

 

Pests: The term "Pests" refers to any pest that is commercially significant in an urban environment, including but not limited to cockroaches, fleas, flies, mites, bees, wasps, mosquitoes, spiders, rodents, ants, silverfish, carpet beetles, birds, other vertebrates, and weeds. However, it does not include bed bugs (including Cimex lectularius and Cimex hemipterus) or timber pests such as termites, wood borers, fungal decay, and chemical delignification.

 

Pesticides  means Australian Pesticides and Veterinarian Medicines Authority (APVMA) approved insecticides, herbicides, weedicides, rodenticides, fungicides or aviaricides used to manage and treat Pests.
